Alpha Chi Omega

Zeta Theta Chapter

Founded at Brown in 1979, Alpha Chi Omega is housed in Sears House, which we share with Delta Tau. Referred to on campus as A-Chi-O, our national philanthropy is domestic violence awareness which we embody through our work with Sojourner House in Providence. Awarded the Alpha Chi Omega National Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award for 2022-2023, our chapter works diligently on issues to support one another to understand our communities and identities. We support one another's interests, attending events that celebrate sisters, whether that be theatrical performance, or a dissertation. Within our chapter, we enjoy activities such as scavenger hunts, themed dress-up nights, group painting, self-defense classes, and just generally movie nights together in the lounge. When we are together, we are Real Strong Women.

Delta Gamma

Theta Delta Chapter

Delta Gamma was established at Brown in 2018 and of our 150 national collegiate chapters, we are the only ones currently in Rhode Island! DG prides ourselves on being active leaders of the community, and are involved in many groups around campus including publications like the Brown Daily Herald and Post- Magazine, service organizations like Camp Kesem, Challah For Hunger, and Dance Marathon, and mentorship programs like Meiklejohn Program and MAPS. Our members also represent intelligent, academically diverse women who study over 30 different concentrations, take classes in almost every department within Brown’s curriculum, and are even a part of various rigorous academic programs such as the Master’s of Public Health (MPH) and the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME). You can find DG’s on campus as TAs, EMTs, varsity athletes, working in labs, building satellites, performing in a cappella groups, and so much more.
Nationally, Delta Gamma’s philanthropy is Service for Sight, which focuses our work with those who are blind or visually impaired. The Delta Gamma Foundation supports 5 schools for the blind across the country, and provides aid for hundreds of other organizations supporting the blind and visually impaired through grant money and the work of our sister. We were even named the “Most Philanthropic Sorority” nationally and in the 2020-2021 raised over $6.2 Million for the DG Foundation. At Brown, DG has also partnered with Be My Eyes, an app that allows us to provide virtual assistance to the blind or visually impaired with daily tasks like reading mail or even picking out a matching outfit. We do our best to always live up to our motto “Do Good.”
Within our chapter, we love participating in sisterhood events, including things like festive cookie decorating, apple picking, scavenger hunts, brunches, and lots of movie nights and bonding in our lounge in Goddard. We strive to uplift our other sisters, and are dedicated, welcoming, and genuine women, and we are so happy to be members of the Greek community, and the Brown community as a whole.

Kappa Alpha Theta

Alpha Epsilon Chapter

Kappa Alpha Theta nurtures each member throughout her lifetime, offering opportunities for intellectual and personal growth through its commitment to loving lifelong sisterhood beginning on campus and extending far beyond graduation. As members of the first Greek-letter fraternity for women, today's Thetas uphold a long tradition of leading the way for women's groups and women in higher education. Installed in February 1897 and reorganized in March 1984 at Brown University, Kappa Alpha Theta’s Alpha Epsilon chapter is located in Diman House, which is shared with the Social Action House. Commonly referred to as Theta on campus, our national philanthropy is Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), which promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Kappa Delta

Theta Gama Chapter

Kappa Delta was officially founded at Brown University in the spring of 2013 and was the first KD chapter in Rhode Island!  We are so proud to be a community of diverse and accomplished women. With sisters studying in a variety of rigorous academic tracks, from Engineering to Archeology, the women in our chapter are also involved in many different organizations on campus, including the Program for Liberal Medical Education (PLME), Brown Elementary Afterschool Mentors (BEAM), and Brown Investment Group (BIG). We also have sisters who are varsity athletes (Go Bears!), Miss America titleholders, Brown Bookstore ambassadors, EMS volunteers, Peer Counselor Advisors, Writing Fellows, Teaching Assistants, and leaders across campus. In choosing Kappa Delta, you are choosing to be a part of a sincere sisterhood that values lifetime learning, intellectual curiosity, personal integrity, loyalty, and commitment to the community. Kappa Delta’s national philanthropies are Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA)  and Girl Scouts, both centered on building confidence, something we strive to emphasize in our chapter as well as in the broader community. We are blessed to work with local Girl Scouts troops through campus tours, confidence workshops, cookie-selling on campus, and mentorship. We also raise money for PCAA by throwing “Dunk and Dodge”, a fun dodgeball tournament and paint party mash-up. We bond through trips to the Roger Williams Zoo Spook-tacular, paintball, reality TV show night, and study sessions around campus. Kappa Delta is so happy to be a part of the Brown University community and so excited to continue to grow in sisterhood!
